That is better than the 212,000 added in July but down from the nearly 4.5 million added in June. While the US added jobs in these months, ADP recorded a nonfarm job loss of 19.4 million in April. “The August job postings demonstrate a slow recovery,” said Ahu Yildirmaz, VP and co-head of the ADP Research Institute. “Job gains are minimal, and businesses across all sizes and sectors have yet to come close to their pre-Covid-19 employment levels.” Here are the jobs added by sector: Goods-producing, up 40,000 Natural resources/mining, up 2,000 Construction, up 28,000 Manufacturing, up 9,000 Service-providing, up 389,000 Trade/transportation/utilities, up 58,000 Information, down 1,000 Financial activities, up 11,000 Professional/business services, up 66,000 a Professional/technical services, up 19,000 b Management of companies/enterprises, up 1,000 c Administrative/support services, up 47,000 Education/health services, up 100,000 a Healthcare/social assistance, up 85,000 b Education, up 15,000 Leisure/hospitality, up 129,000 Other services, up 25,000
